This will allow the horse to feel like its head isnt being yanked up, and you can relax your arms. She willi yank on your hands if you yank on her mouth. So if you give just a little bit to her mouth BEFORE she yankes, she'll be happier and will behave. Don't tolerate snapping of the reigns, but make sure you're not causing it
Hey thanks for the tip, it sounds like it might work. Sorry if this is a stupid question,
but how exactly do you do a half halt? I've heard some people say you give a little feel down the outside rein, and some people say that you give a quick tug and release on both reins. I've never been properly taught how to do one.
