Smile Please critique me and my mare! (JUMPERS)

hi! me and my mare
Paris (thoroughbred)
are training for jumpers in a local open show at the end of may. we are looking to compete in training jumpers with fence hights at 3'-3"3'.
I HAVE ONLY BEEN RIDING FOR ONE AND A HALF YEARS...... i want to make that clear. 1 1/2

haha sorry i get questioned a lot

so please critique me and my mare!

I live in a house but my home is in the stable.

She looks like a great little jumper. I like her a lot but I'd like to see you not pull on her face as she and you are going over the jumps and on flat. If you aren't doing that then I saw something that wasnt there. But yea good job :)

You are an excellent rider for only having riden a year and a half!

Your horse is nice and round for parts of it, but (and I think this may come from the pulling on her face, as the above poster said) she goes flat and pulls on the reins sometimes in between jumps. To get her more on the bit, take up a soft contact and nudge her with your outside leg until she rounds up, then relax your leg. She may only stay round for a couple strides, but you can build it up gradually.

I understand that you're practicing, and probably not planning on going out to A-level shows and winning (yet!), but if you're going out for jumpers and not hunters, you'll need a little more speed. This might be just me, but it kind of looks like your mare needs just a tad more warmup. It could just be that she isn't extending very well, or you're asking her to collect!
