Danny is a 22 year old (or so we think) Arabian gelding. i have heard recently that his topline/rump could use some work. Please tell me what you think of his weight/muscling and conformation. He is worked often (3-7 hours a week) he shows hunters and gymnakah also. Looking for any recommendations to build his topline. (feed, excersises)?

*Don't look at him as the "newer" more lean Arabs, he is an older model (;.

I'm not an expert on this... I think he's gorgeous! He could use some more muscle, I think (keeping in mind I don't know tons). I know there are special senior feeds you can get... Sorry I'm not much help. He looks pretty good for being 22. :)

I think he looks great] at 22!! He is so pretty, looks sweet too? I have a 23 year old buckskin who does not have that physique, To be blunt, he's fat. I hate it. Goodness I am a bad mom. Anyway I'll post a pic sometime if I figure out how to. Do u ride the Arab? He looks like he'd be fun.

He looks great. His conformation is nice and solid. The only thing that really sticks out at me is that he is camped out a bit in the back but lots of Arabs I see are like that so I don't know if it is standard or what LOL. Sure, he could use some more muscle in his back and butt, but as horses age, it is harder to keep their muscles toned and they start to get a little bit flabby, just like people :D. Lots of work long and low (nice extended gaits with his head down) will help to build some muscle in his back. If you ever ride him on trails, lots of hill work at a walk and trot will also help with muscles, especially in his butt. His weight looks excellent. He is a darn good looking boy.

This is probably completely useless feedback from someone who owns a quarter horse but BOY do his legs look scrawny like little tooth picks or a 12 year old girl! Is that a conformation thing?

Anyways he's very cute and has a very kind, calm eye. Congrats on keeping an aging horse looking so good!!

haha, I'm sure comapared to your quarterhorses his legs are quite nimble! but they haven't snapped in half :p.Anyway thanks, it's been tough keepin that condition but it's all consistency, and whenever I noticed a flaw ( like this one) I learned more about it and fixed it! :)

Very nice "young" fella. It looks like he is working off his front end too much. I see more muscling in the front then in the back. As mentioned above, hill work at a trot will help but you may want to work on collection as well. That will cause him to work more on his rear.

3-7 hours of work per week is really very light work so if it's possible to step it up, that will help a great deal towards building him up. On the whole he looks in good condition for his age. My Arab, Charlie, is about 20-21 years old and built like a QH - I love the Polish style Arab over the thinner Egyptian.
