Possible Purchase--TB Mare

Saw this mare on Craigslist, looking for a horse to compete on at a higher level, due to my Paint's leg injury

This is all the info and pictures that were provided in the ad...

"We have a six year old Thoroughbred Mare for sale. Her registered name is Highflyingprinces, her barn name is Breeze. She retired from the racetrack in February 2011. She has won over $64,000 in her racing career and is now ready to be a riding horse or a wonderful broodmare. She rides well and has a very gentle and friendly temperment. We are selling her because we also have a 22 year old mare and they are undable to get along with each other. Our old mare is just not tolerating her. Breeze is up to date on all of her shots and has been wormed regularly. She is in excellent shape and very sound. We had intended to breed her with a quarter horse in order to get a foal with the Thoroughbred speed and the Quarter Horse strength."

Let me know what you think, I have emailed the owner for some more info, pics, etc. Also, what do you think would be an acceptable price for this mare (solely based on the info provided) Thanks guys!

Hard to tell much from those two photos.

To be honest, a horse like her shouldn't go for more than $1,000.00, and you may be able to get her cheaper than that. It's not like ex-racing TBs are rare.

The ad saws $1,500...I would try to talk them down since I know they aren't rare, I just love her look.

Lol its quite random that they mentioned the reason behind breeding her to a QH.

I think $1,000 is a fair price to offer

I have a chestnut ex-racing TB myself, so I understand why you're smitten.
