Potential horse

So i had this down in horse talk, figured i would move it up here. Details:

Name: Jasper Chex aka Sundance

Age: 14 years old

Height: 16.2 hands (hes huge ) probably 1400 pounds

Gender: Gelding

Breed: Paint (obviously lol)

Discipline: He was used as a low key barrel horse, then this owner has used him as a 4h/trail horse. He is very very well broke.

Details: He has only had two owners (the breeder and this current owner), so he hasnt been passed around at all. He is a love bug, loves attention and loves being ridden. He has good strong hooves, normally goes shoeless. He has never had any health problems except one time he did have a very mild bout of sand colic, but has had no problems since. So is what i worry about is his age, i mean hes already 14, in 6 years he will be 20..... I mean he doesnt act old, he plays wiht his herd mate, and on trail rides he still has plenty of go, likes to go(run) actually. I just hmmm. Anways on to the pics. Ummm i know that in the butt picture his back legs are really close together but i think she just caught him in a wierd pose (you know how horses are)

No, I dont think he is too old at all! Did you try him out? He sure is a cutie :)

i dont think he is too old at all, he would be a good steady ride and he does have some lovely markings and great colour, did you test ride him, i think you should go for him, if you do what are your plans for him

Even if he stands close in the back it shouldn't matter too much. However he stands he's been doing it for 14 years and he's still sound. I agree that he's not too old.

I have not gone out to see him yet, im gonna try this weekend. And then im gonna see if i can do a 2 week or more trail wiht him. I would aslo be getting him a pre- purchase exam for sure. Ill keep you guys updated.

Well, you already know my opinion of him. I hope they allow the trial and good luck. I like him.

Too old? Nah, he's the perfect age!

Not so young that he's a dingbat, and not so old that he's a deadhead.

He's an experienced trail horse, and I'm sure has seen a lot of things in his day. Which means he'll be more level headed than a younger, less experienced mount.

Best horse I ever had was an evil little demon as a youngster, who turned into the sanest, most sensible horse I've ever known once he hit 14 y/o.

Besides, 20 isn't a death sentence! Many horses live into their 30s nowadays, and are usually ridden at least into their late 20s.

I'd rather see some good picts before commenting on conformation but overall I like what I see and 14 is NOT too old by any means. Think of the horses at the Olympic games, they are mostly in that age group. At that age, you know what you are getting. (I certainly would put him on a diet ).

all right well im not worried about his age anymore, thanks guys lol. Iride, if i do get him, he will definantly go on a diet and get worked lol. If i go see him i will take better confo pics. Im hoping she will let me take him on a trail that would be great,!
