These are videos from me riding my horse at the original owner's place. I rode him Western and English. I just started learning English about a year ago so I know I need ALOT of work on that lol, but I'd just like to know what to work on. I've been riding Western for 7 years & two things I know I need to work on is me arching my back (i danced & tumbled for 12 years so its a bad habit :p) & keeping my heels down but if you see anything else I'd like to know. Thanks! :)
P.S. The english saddle I was riding in was not mine so the stirrups were a little long.

For only riding English for a year I'd say that's really good:)
Here's what I noticed:
Your hands were sort of in your lap. You need to shorten your reins some and close your fingers. Try to create a straight line from your elbow to the bit. You'll get the hand of it pretty fast. I would say heels down a little more, but you said the stirrups were long so that's fine:) Just sit up a little straighter and try to follow with your elbows at the canter. Think of them as rubberbands following the horse's mouth. Granted, this shouldn't be some big theatrical motion, just a soft way of following the horse.
Overall it was quite nice:) Cute horse, too!
