Rocky - (My favorite so far!!!!)

A lady replied to my add on Craigslist. Here is her add and a picture of Rocky.

    Hello,

I have a 2002 draft cross gelding who is 16.3 hands tall. I bought him when he was 9 months old and he has had the best of care with me. He is great on the ground, good for the vet and farrier, easy to handle. He isn't trained to ride. To the right home, I would be willing to sell for $800. I haven't been trying to sell him but when I saw your ad I had to write, I believe in things meant to be. He is just too big for me and too nice to be a lawn ornament. He is my baby though and I would want him to go to a permanent home (not bought to resell).

Rocky mostly stays in the pasture but I occasionally keep him up at night. He doesn't like being in the stall much so turn out every day would be important.

Let me know if you like what you see and we can talk more.

    Thanks,
    Gigi

I'm still going to have to take my instructor to go and see him but on looks alone, he just keeps my jaw on the floor. If he's got decent ground manners, than I can work with him on the ground with lunging and such and my instructor can work on him in the saddle. =D (after we got one to fit him o.O)

It works out well that he is so close to you too, I would definitely go and try him out and see how the connection goes but I hope it all works out for you! He is a very handsome boy!

    Trained
He's nice, I like the looks of him.
However, I'm a bit concerned as to why, at the age of 7, isn't he trained to ride?
Being big shouldn't prevent someone to atleast getting him started when he was younger.
Just some food for thought, that's all

It could be, as the lady said, that because he was too big for her she just didn't get him broken?
Anyway, I really like him, he looks and sounds lovely! I would def check him out!

I've ridden a 16h horse before but it wasnt a draft and I've got a years experience working with drafts and even hitching them up but I've never actually ridden one. At Dixie we had 2 percherons and 2 belgians that were our driving teams for the show =). Fred, one of the percherons, was the guy who really got me into loving drafts.

Heres was Dixie's percheron team (I don't have any pics of the belgians =*(..)

    Black is Fred
    White is Ponch

(and yes thank you..I know the isle ways were nice a clean..LOL)
