I agree that he's a bit too old. Yes, he could probably have a few more years left... but would it be worth it?

I would keep Duchess if I were you.

But if you decide to get him... PPE all the way!!!!!!

Hey, those really broke horses who have been there and done everything are priceless.......BUT, you can find them that are 8, 10, or 12 years old then you have at least another 10 years. I agree that he is a little too old to be really competative at the adult level and IMHO, I don't think it's fair to ask him to compete against all those other horses who are 10 years younger. IMHO, unless you find a deal that you just absolutely cannot pass up, I would stick with Duchess.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
