You honestly have no idea how happy I was with that ride today. My horse has the type of 'dig your feet in and POWER over it' jump, so I'm really amazed I'm managing to get my position back! My lower leg is my biggest weakness, especially my right ankle after falling and screwing up my tendons, but my coach has recently started me doing simple stretches in the saddle to strengthen my calves and ankles, to make it easier to get my leg under me- plus two point at the flat, which I've always been lazy and avoided ;D. So I totally see what you mean.
Thanks so much for the critique, I'll definitely put up more pictures soon! I wish I had pictures on my computer from when I first got him, he was a mess with his form over fences (and a bit of a fat blob), he's come SO far.
