Are We Show Ready? Robbie critiqueee! :)

Soooo me and Robbie have a show next week! :)
I'm super pumped for it but we haven't shown all summer due to Robbie's strangles and moving barns etc, so I'm just hoping that we're ready for it!

We've been having amazing lessons lately and really been jumping up while doing some more derbyish courses. I'm entered in some 3'0, 3'3, and 3'6 hunter classes so any critique/advice/tips that you guys could give me would be great! I'm trying to lease Robbie out too so I want him to do really well in the show. :)

Now pleaseeee excuse my leg in seriously all of these pictures. It's horrible and I know haha. I swear the whole lesson he was trying to jump me off, usually my toes are much better and my knee isn't crazy rotated out like it is haha. But feel free to critique the rest of me and bobbert! Thanks guys!

Our first jump of the day...can't you tell? haha ;)

Much better!

Bad release haha, he tried to run right through the oxer. :3

I guess there was a wierd shadow there cause he jumped this one hugeee haha

One of my favorites :)

Andd another one of my favorites. :)

Goooood Robbie!!

Nice! I think you both look good, except you seem to be jumping to far ahead.

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

Yea i am going to echo Ray with the jumping ahead. I find I do that when Primo gets forward or strong too. Remember to sit up, relax to the fence, and wait for the jump rather than jumping for your gorgeous horse. Often jumping ahead makes them rush and jump flat.

Good luck at the show! Just have fun!

If your horse says no, you either asked the wrong question or asked the question wrong

And God took a handful of southerly wind, blew His breath over it and created the horse

Kay this might sound weird.... But I had a dream about your horse...LOL

I just remember that I was balling my eyes out because Robbie died! I was crying soo hard and my family didn't know why I was crying so hard over a horse.. I was like :0 HE DIED!! :...(

I just had to say that I LOVE the first jumping picture! It makes it look like Robbie has so much character and personality, and he looks like so much fun! He's gorgeous, too.

Ackkk! I know this is an old thread but I've been away and really wanted to reply to the comments I received! :) thanks for all the lovely compliments, Robbie really is my pride and joy haha.

I completely agree with the whole jumping ahead thing, I'm trying super hard to work on that haha. I just find because Robbie's jump is so powerful he flings me forward over the jump! I guess that's kinda why my hips rotate out because I'm trying to stay with him as he jumps me out of the saddle haha. I have been working on sitting up really tall coming to the fence and letting Robbie jump to me, but I find I get super left behind! Maybe I'm actually in the right position o/f but since I'm so used to being more forward it feels awkward haha. Any other suggestions on how to help me stay with Robbie, not get jumped off, and not jump ahead?! Haha.

Ray MacDonald - hahaha! That is too funny! Wierd enough, a lot of my friends have dreams about Robbie and him dying/getting hurt! Maybe people's dreams are trying to tell me something... ;) but he's very much alive and well haha.

Haleylvsshammy - thanks so much! He has a HUGE personality. Robbie acts more like my dog than a horse. ;) he is a blast to ride and has an awesome sense of humor, he likes to "dance" and play in between jumps haha. I think he'll act like a 3 year old forever!
