Arrow Website critty?

Laural Lake Farm; Home to Meat Goats,Trail horses, Hunter Ponies, and much more. - Home

It's not quite finished, and there's no doubt I've made some grammatical errors (mind you, a 14 y/o designed this site, lol).

Tear it apart, constructive criticism appreciated. Anything to look more professional. :)

Thanks!

Pretty good for a 14 year old.

I would try to center and widen the information column so it was either as wide as the header section or a little narrower... but either way centered.

Also, I think the Title should look much more like:
Luaral Lake Farm
Home to meat goats, trail horses, hunter ponies and much more...

It doesn't have to be centered, just the name of the farm should be separated from the explanation, if that makes sense.

Center the navigation. Lose the "About LLF & Contact", just have "About LLF" as the link name. Change "LLF most recent photos" to "The Gallery" or something else.

As for the text: Welcome!

Laural Lake Farm is located in Caroline County, Virginia. We are dedicated to bringing you the best Boer Goats and crosses possible.

Then explain a little more about them, and what else you do there...

I would explain more about the horses later to make it flow, rather than go "Look we have boer goats... and look at our horses! More on Boer goats"

The front page, in my opinion, should always have the most update news about the farm and the work that's going on there.

Other than that I think it looks really good!

Alright, I have updated. I was unable to center the page, but if you know, I would absolutely LOVE some help. :).

My critique probably isn't the best, as I'm only 13. Reading at a college reading level, though!
  • On the main page, take out the bullet for "Boar Goats" since there isn't one for "Horses & Ponies".
  • Possibly make the text on the subline (the "Laurel Lake Farm is located....") a few sizes bigger. It gets somewhat lost in the page. Make the "Welcome" a few sizes bigger, as well.
  • On the "Goat info and Wethers" page, explain why wethers don't smell as bad as bucks (...unless it's something that the audience really does not want to know lol!)
  • At the bottom of that same page, put "If you......hesitate to email me, Amanda, at ____@idk.com"
  • Take out the comma after $30 on that page, under the "Why are goats expencive" question. I don't believe it's grammatically correct.
  • On the "equines" page, under Zephyrus's information, change to "he is able to compensate well in whatever environment he is placed in."
  • Also in Zeph's info, put a space between the colon and 2001. Same for Tornado's d.o.b
  • Take out the comma after "strict trail horse" in Tornado's blurb
  • Wording here (We are working on getting greener riders on him and he takes to them like a pro) seems not quite right....maybe "We are introducing greener riders to him, and he's taking them like a pro"?
  • For Prince, change to "training him for trails and cross country"
  • Overall, try to take out the & signs when you're writing. In titles it's okay, but anywhere else it starts to look unprofessional.
  • Maybe change the color scheme from season to season. I've always thought that would be a cool idea....browns and oranges in autumn, greens and yellows in spring, bright colors in summer.
I think it looks really good overall!

OK, I didn't go through everything, but have couple comments. And I think overall great job, just needs little bit of polishing and improvements here and there.

First of all why the pages with info are not the same width as a header? You can set it up in css you are using.

Add Contact Us to the links. That's something lots of people are looking for, and not everyone is smart enough to go and look under "About LLF".
Equines --> Horses
Pony-Party Information --> Pony Parties (the shorter the link name the better)
Goats Info... --> Goats
All Boer ... (3 links) would be nice to make as drop down with 3 choices under Boers (when put mouse over you have Boer Bucks, Boer Doe, Boer Babies)

Don't get ride of the sidebar, I like it! I was about to comment on the width thing again, but then I noticed that there was stuff on it and I was like "OH! That's awesome!"

Awesome! Thanks! Anything else? I want this to run a business off of, if that makes sense. :)
