Also, in his over fences photos he doesn't really show consistent hunter form. In a couple of the photos his forearm is below vertical and he's loose below the knee. And you have to assume the seller has posted the best photos that they have.

If you're relatively new to showing, I'd look for something a little more "made" and with more experience in you discipline.

I think he's way over priced. In this economy , you can get super trained horses that don't need any more training, and are amazing in the show ring . Maybe like 5500 might be a good price? Not to be rude, but if you have the 10k, I'd first consider some other options. I could find some really good fits for you if you PM me what you're looking for and your price range. I've found horses for my friends and family for years and have been told to start as a business. Not to brag, but I would be more than happy to help you!

Yes, I certainly think it IS 'Wishful Thinking' on their part to ask that price on him! (haha ;) see what I did there??) I agree with Ak1, he's worth between about 4-6.5K in this economy. Who knows though, he is probably worth a look! Yes, if your range is 10k, there are some superb show hunters out there!

I would definitly take a look at him. He seems nice and knows his job (from what they show anyways)...definitly take into consideration what the others are thinking :)
Good luck in your horse search!

I am very local to this sale barn, within less than an hour and they sell a lot of horses so I see a lot of their ads. I have a bad habit of not being able to afford another horse, but still looking all the time.

I have no personal experience with them, but I can tell you that from what I have seen from seeing their for sale ads, they seem to flip horses quickly, often for more money than I think they are worth. This is all my opinion, but they seem to put ok looking horses in a hunter jumper environment and flip them.

All of that is just my opinion about the barn from seeing their horses for sale all the time. However I would say that he does not look like a $10k horse to me.

I see you are in Pittsburgh, I can put you in contact with someone in my area (about 5 hours from you, where the horse you posted is) she is honest, and you would likely get the same horse for about 1/4 of the price. If you are interested, send me a pm, and I will send you her info. I bought my horse from her, and I trust her.
