What is Your Opinion?

Hey everyone,

I am still new to The Horse Forum but seems to be a wonderful community. And so, I thought I could maybe ask this question, and I have been needing an answer for a while. Hopefully I will get some feedback.

Anyways, I have been wanting to get started in endurance and it seems to be a great sport for the both of us... She is also a paint horse with lots of Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred lines which are not that great for it either... She loves to go bitless and to be comfortable too, which is great for endurance. And she is great to walk around on the trails. So, my question is; does she look suited for the sport endurance?(I provided some pictures below)

Tell me what you think :)

I don't know anything about endurance, but your horse is gorgeous !!

What's her stamina like? Is she able to go all day at a trot? The trot is the most important gait for endurance since fitness is the issue, not speed.

Does she like to get out and go, or does she peter out after a few miles?

With her TB lineage she has the potential, but she also has QH, which isn't exactly high on the list of endurance horses.

If you're really interested in endurance, you might try her on some competitive trail rides and limited distance rides to see how she fares.

There's a reason why most high placing endurance horses are Arabian or Half Arab. Those little buggers are like the Energizer Bunny!

Her stamina is good, she could trot for a really long time.

She has a calm attitude when we go out there and will trot until I tell her not to.

I was planning on entering a 25miler at the end of the summer(after we've conditioned for it) to try it out and if it doesn't work out... well, I don't know what sport we are going to do.

Haha, those Arabs are impressive horses

If she can't cut it at endurance, she might be able to do competitive trails or limited distance rides. Those also have ribbons and prizes.

I had an Arabian gelding I would have liked to do endurance with, but he was only good for about 25-30 miles, and then he would stop and tell me, "No more today!"

I have another Arab gelding who would probably do very well at it, but there's a reason I call him Crazy Horse!
