What's best for Buster?

My boss is now selling off some of his horses, and I was wondering what should we market this guy as?

Reg. Quarter Horse, 7 yrs, 14.3hh. Don't know much about Quarter Horse lines, but he is Poco Bueno bred, which seems to impress people. He goes Western and English, has (supposedly) been through Training Level Dressage up to First Level (I'm not sure ,it was with someone else), goes over fences very willingly, but tends to rush. I haven't known him for very long, but he has no collection, and dislikes contact on the mouth and from your legs (I don't know who "trained" him for Dressage, but they did a poor job). We've just started working on those problems after dealing with some others, (he's actually coming along really nicely, I'm so disappointed to see him leave!) but considering the above I think it may be best to market him as something else? Maybe a reiner....? I don't know, but I'd love your opinions!

He is a horse who could probably do everything; he has a pretty nice build; a bit high in the rear, but he's over all, nicely balanced, and has a really nice expression.

Where you at? I might just come and steal him!!!!

Okay, I just noticed the two goats laying in the background of the first pic...TOOOOOO cute!!! I have a couple of Nigerian does...

We're in Kentucky, I'm sad to see him go, I wish I could take him!
He's such a sweetheart, but he does have trust issues, some jerk farrier WHOMPED him in the face with a rasp a few years ago. A rasp. The nerve of some people.



They're Nigerians as well.
The white goat is the darker ones "oops" baby, who is now expecting another oops baby by her son... we need to be quicker about the cutting. >.<

Is he a TRAINED reiner? You can't advertise the horse as reiner if he has no training at all for that. I'm also not very positive his pedigree is what people are looking for in reiners.

He's very cute, nicely build and have a lovely color, but sounds like all-around horse, which didn't do anything extra special yet. I'd suggest to be honest and if he indeed has NO issues (either training or health) would put him as a nice all-around horse, which did some jumping or some western and have potential to go further.

I'm not very positive people are all that impressed with Poco Bueno, which also carries HERDA (NOT saying this horse does). Do you know other lines he has? BTW, my horse has Poco Bueno in pedigree too and foundation.

Like I said, I don't know much about Quarter horse lines, just what I've heard from other people. I'll have to look at his papers for more on his breeding.
Also, I meant to say reining prospect, that's my fault. It was just something I was throwing out there, I don't know what to look for in reiners though. I just think it may be something he'd enjoy, maybe be a good first reiner for someone. I have no idea, just looking for tips to help market this horse the best I can to attract potential buyers.

More than likely whatever we advertise him as will be a prospect in that discipline, due to his amount of training. He's a great mount, he just doesn't know a lot.

I meant he may have even more impressive lines in him then just Poco Bueno. My horse has Driftwood and Doc Bar, and personally I found those lines more important then Poco Bueno, but that's just my opinion.

Hopefully, Fehr or nhareiner will pitch in - they have lots of experience with QH and reining, so they can give a better suggestions about "reining prospect" or what's would be the best potitial for him. I'd think he would be a good cow horse from his look. But it's just me. :)

I was wondering about that! I didn't know if it was something they had to be started on earlier though. I've been told he LOVES to chase cows.
