Your thoughts on my possible buy. 2004 Arabian Mare

I am looking at buying this mare and I would love to hear your thoughts on her conformation. She is a 2004 Arabian Mare. Yes, I know the video is two years old but its what I have.

I'm curious though, is that a cribbing collar( or what ever you'd call it) on her?
To me she looks very healthy and her movement is lovely:)

Chocolate is the answer. Who cares what the question is.

She is very pretty. Quick on her feet, too. She doesnt' reach very far under herself with her hind feet, and has the kind of "gazelle pronk" canter common in Arabs. But that is normal for them. For what do you want to use her?

She's very substantial and very typical of Polish, Polish/Russian breeding. She's got some very athletic lines, so I'm thinking she'll be a good riding horse. And she's very pretty.

Halter conformation:
Plain head (typical Polish profile)
Neck is a bit short
Shoulder is straighter than I like
and as another poster noted, she's not very free in her hip, doesn't reach under herself real well.

Since I'm guessing you're not buying a coming 8 year old mare for halter, none of that really means anything if you're looking at a trail horse or just everyday pleasure riding horse. I'd love to see conformation photos of her, those videos that don't stop and stand her up for conformation aren't real helpful.

If you're looking at her for a broodie, I'd look for a real fancy moving stallion with a gorgeous face and long hooky neck (that he's got history for passing on).

She also gives the impression of a small eye, but since this is not the clearest video, that's really more of a gut feeling than something I can tell for sure.

Im looking at her as a riding horse and a broodmare. She is one of two possibly three mares Im looking at. I have heard different thoughts on her shoulder so I wanted more opinions.

I think the neck band is a fly protector.

She moves nicely, could reach more under herself. She also has that typical Arab canter, but is balanced and has nice clean legs, plain head, would like her neck to be a bit longer and more slope to her shoulder. As everyone above has said too, doesn't have as much freedom in her hips in order to step up under herself. Pics would help since the video doesn't give us a straight view of her completely stopped and stood up.
