Question 4h club

I just joined my towns 4h club. The problem is, my horse lives 6 hours away at my grandmas house. One of the members has lots of horses and said i could borrow one of his. Dose anyone know if you can compete in the state fair or in horse shows on somebody else's horse? I think you can, but i am not sure.

In Canada you can as long as you train them yourself. I'm sure most shows would allow it.

Check your local rulebook for a definitive answer.

Way back in my 4H years, you could compete on any horse. I let a fellow 4H member borrow one of my horses when hers went lame before our summer show season culmination at Fair.

In our 4h, you have to register your horse with the state Ag Extension service. I think you have to provide some proof of ownership or a "lease" agreement that you have permission to show the horse (at least at the district/state show level).

For the small local shows, only proof of negative coggins is required.
