Talking any pics or stories of your falls :P

I was trying a little 12.2 for my youger sister the other day when we reached the jump.. unknown to me he decided that it would be funny to stop dead and put his nose down to sniff the pole, there was no neck for me to push myself back on to get myself back into the saddle to I went over the top. Very embaressing :/ however everyone else found it hilarious :P

i took my 14.1 arab X to the XC we were travelling nisely upto the corner jump and she stopped dead aswell and I kept going and landed on the jump :/ the worst thing was the photographer didnt snap a pic ..

four falls in 5 days, how embarressing

Got any pics or stories you want to share??

I don't have pics from today but I did fall off my silly arab. He has QUITE the sense of humor and we were talking about our America's Favorite Trail Horse audition this weekend that we're getting ready for and how I can stand on his back on the saddle, sit backwards, sit on his butt, etc. and as i'm talking, I slid behind the saddle and sat on his but. Well we had an audience today and he decided it would be funny to take two steps forward and scoot his butt underneath him so i'd slide off the dork! I tried telling him it wasn't funny but I couldn't stop laughing and he just looked at me like see? It IS funny even you're laughing mom!

He's a total riot!!! Then we did the practice for the audition and nailed it and the I let out a holler (we do that a lot - this is my bomb proof trail horse haha) and he went YAY! MOM IS HAPPY I DID GREAT! And did one of those ayrab-special bucks where all legs go in different directions and he hops like a jack rabbit at the same time and I almost wound up on his neck and he went whoopsie! And came right back to the trot so that he didn't hurt me before the audition lol.

I sing to him as we practice about how warm it is in texas (he is desert bloodlines, bred in cali, then lived in fl so he thinks nj is tortuously cold - it's been in the high 50s and low 60s during the day and he's in a midweight the silly horse!!! As long as I sing about going to texas (where finals are if we make it) he's all happy and prancy and shows off! He's too smart for his own good lol!!!!

I don't have any pictures but yesterday I was loping without stirrups and Gambit got spooked and took off, before I could get my feet back in the stirrups he turned in a circle and launched me out of the saddle and into the fence I have a bruise on my face and lower back, my knee elbow and ankle are all swollen :(. But before that we had been having a great workout. My sister finished working him then put him away. I was pretty out of it.

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

I have a video of my first fall off of a horse a year or so ago xD it was my first time on the horse (it was team day and we were all switching horses) so I'd only been on the mare for about 15 seconds before I went to do the barrels. It was also my first time in an english saddle (No wonder we don't use english saddles to barrel race!) I don't even know what happened. We were doing good, then she broke her canter and I just...slid off! (probably had a lot to do with me trying to pull her into a slower canter and sitting too far back XD)

Falling at lesson/'mock show'

Needless to say, even though I fell, I still had the best time (we were just doing trot around-canter back on the pattern) and 'won' because I fell off AFTER the finish line! Haha.

They called me 'springs' for months afterwards because I hopped up like a jack in the box after faceplanting xD you almost couldnt tell I fell off!

We'll just call it an emergency dismount.

be in your journey, but not all of
them are meant to stay till the end.

about 3 years ago I had my funniest fall I don't have any pics or videos but everyone found this funny! I had a little 13.2hh gelding who had a habit of stopping at jumps we we're in a pony club group lesson and we went to do a course at the second fence he stopped quite suddenly infront of a jump that stood around 3ft I got lanched over him and then landed with his reins in my hands standing on the other side of the jump, he obviously found this so funny because the then stuck his top lip in the air and stopped at every other fence! Luckily I was prepared now he jumps up to 1m 30 with riders and doesn't stop now cheeky pony!

About 5 months ago, I fell off my TB. I was in an english saddle and I was galloping her for the first time(galloped many times before this). I forgot to secure the latch that keeps the stirrups from falling off. So we stopped fine and everything. Then on the way back disaster. I was riding with a friend and we were nearing a steep hill with about 4 meters wide of grass and the rest road. I was trotting then my friend decides to canter right before the hill and there goes my TB! She races off down the hill and at full gallop. I attempted to stop her but just then, my stirrup falls off! So I hang on for life, my TB is galloping on the road now and I have no control, I lose balance, fall and hit my head on the road. My helmet saved me! I was knocked out, friend caught my horse, ambulance came and yup. Lesson learned?: Always check your stirrups.

Last year I was going to ride and my mom insisted on taking a cap(?) with me, because it was very cold and she thought my ears will fall off. Since I was already on a horse, she brought me one, but it was too big. When I was riding, Candy got spooked and when I made a quick movement with my head, to see of what is she afraid, my cap fall on my eyes. Then Candy made some weird jumps and I was on the ground. Pretty hard to keep your balance if you don't know in which direction you're going :P

Other fall happened when we were cantering on some meadow and my dog thought it would be fun to bark and compete with horses. Candy was in the mood and she bucked once. I was still in the saddle. Bucked twice. I was on her neck. Bucked three times. I was on her neck-but below. :P

It's RAINING!

I am very lucky I've fallen off twice (my mum says your not a rider until you've fallen off 7 times).
The funny one was cantering a ex-racer up a hill with a friend and my stirrup trend on one side came up somehow and he throw a huge buck as I tried to get it back in. I stayed on until a few steps and then he throw another huge buck. I can off over his left shoulder and that's the last thing, his shoulder!
Next thing I saw was my friend holding a pair of reins, looking down at me with red next stood next to her.
Turns out red hadn't noticed his departed rider and finished the canter but my friend had tried to pull her horse up who kept going and the horse had grapped the bit and run, as she'd pulled up the reins on her horse had broken. Both horses were unhurt and I got back on and rode home. That was yrs ago now!
The other time was when my much loved youngster went for a roll with mummy on his back!!!! Little so'n so!!
