So last night at about 5.30 I was riding the pony jumping and he was going perfectly!! He's never been great over showjumps even though he's get terrific form he's just wary. We were going over only about 30-40cm, but he's only bn in work since saturday so the fact that he's jumping is amazing!! Anyway, we came down the treble and he wasnt entirely sure of the middle fence and I was not ready for it (rider error, not pony error!!) when he refused. I came down his neck then slipped to the side as he made his getaway but landed on my feet (success!!) but then the buckled and my upper body kinda flexed at the back and bent backwards underneath itself kinda, and I heard a big crunch an all I new is I was on my back with a lot of pain and pins and needles down my legs. I completely freaked out, and being the self-diagnosing hyperchondriact that I am, came up with all these wacky things that could have happened (severed spinal cord, slipped disc, paralysis........) dad was there and saw the whole thing and long story short we had to call the ambulance to come get me and I spent half the night in emergency department getting xrays and people poking and prodding me all over, and I honestly couldn't tell you how many times I heard the phrase "does this hurt..? does this hurt..? does this hurt..?" argh.. all well!! I had suspected broken back but the xrays didnt show a lot, the they diagnosed me with muscle and ligament damage in my middle back and a possible hairline fracture in my lower back/tail bone area which they can't do much about.. so im high as a kite on pain killer drugs and scored a day off school and maccas for tea last night!! Yay!!
