Can I Ride Her Yet?

So I have a 16 year old appendix mare. She has been used for breeding and teasing for the past 8 years. She used to be a hunter and I am interested in riding her. My shoer is going to be putting corrective shoeing on her and I just started giving her supplements. I am longing her a few minutes 3 times a week/ How long do you think until I can ride her?

What is the issue that is requiring the corrective shoeing? When will the shoes be applied? What is her current condition? Are you asking from a point of being concerned for her physically being able to be ridden or from the standpoint of when it would be safe training-wise to ride? When was she last vetted and was she found to be fully sound?
