That's too weird, I've never heard that, but I suppose it makes sense. I ride bareback every now and again. I use it as a work out for my legs and balance. My horse doesn't seem to mind. My sister and I have gone on many bareback trail rides and our horses didn't complain. My mare will stop dead if she feels me getting too off balance.
