Fair punishment? I think not

Okay sage sorry if this offends you haha I don't think it should though (: just want people opinions. Okay nevermind I'm not going to explain the whole story but do you think it's fair that she isn't aloud to ride for one week? She barley did anything but I don't think that's fair for her or the horse since the horse doesn't get exersize for a whole week and onenof the horses definitely needs the exersize.. So do you think that's fair to the horse?

If not allowing my child(ren) to ride for a week would ensure that they didn't repeat the error they had made, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I'm of the opinion that if you had thought about the consequences of your actions, perhaps you would have thought twice about misbehaving and punishments are designed to make you think the next time.

Maybe it's not "fair" but nothing in life is fair. As I tell my kids, "fair" is the place you take your prize pig, so don't be whining to me about fair.

You said right in the OP, she barely did anything. Whose anything is that...hers or her parentsÉ Riding is a priviledge(SP), not a right, and it is a parents right to take that away if their child has done something wrong. If you drive drunk, you get your license taken away....

Maybe not but remember "not a big deal" is in the eyes of the beholder. Horses can still get plenty of exercise without being ridden!

I think its a very rare circumstance when a child feels that their punishment fits the crime XD
