Fall Chat! Share your funniest, first, worst and stupidest!

If you're going to ride, you're going to fall off, it's fact.
I've fallen off 14 times and find discussions on falls very funny, so I thought we could all share our falls!
Videos and pictures would be the icing on the cake


I'll start with my very first fall:
I was riding my loan pony, a 12.2hh called Brandy, and I was cantering up and down the field bareback, despite the fact I had never ever ridden bareback, had no body protector on and there were other horses in the field. Stupid, yes, but I was only 8 or 9 and wasn't thinking. I lost control of Brandy, and she skid down the field and jumped a big huge log. I went flying up her neck, grabbed the mane, and she spun round the corner, leaving me in a muddy puddle. As I was doing something I shouldn't have been doing, I went back to the yard with my coat off and a muddy bum covered up, ready with a cover story..

I have one funny fall that I can remember: a long time ago, I was riding my friend's 17hh TB cross, and I was just cantering around on a loose rein, not really paying attention to much of anything, and we went around a jump and the horse went one way and I went the other! I just toppled off for no real reason. It was hilarious.

The worst one I ever had was because of my old horse, Jack, he bucked me off almost every time I rode him. Once, he bucked me off at a show, and on the way down I somehow got twisted up underneath him, and he trampled over me and galloped out of the ring. I wasn't hurt, but the paramedics thought he had kicked me in the head so they were yelling at me to stay still, and my dad came running up with his face all white- but all I wanted to know was "did anyone catch my stupid horse?" lol!

A funny one I had was that I was riding bareback and I turned a corner and just slid off.

My worst fall was my first fall. My horse attempted to race this other horse down a hill(half grass and half road). So my horse is galloping down this hill,I could not stop her! So she moves onto the road part and my stirrup comes off! I lost my balance and landed on my head. I was knocked out for 20 mins or so and I had road rash on my back,arms and legs. The back of my helmet has a rip in the material, a reminder to always wear a helmet.

At my first show, I was showing my horse, Flash, in halter paint. I tripped in the middle of the arena, had a hard time trying to make him stand still, was crying because of the stress, but still won third place!! I now know to remember it is all about having fun and gaining experience!

My first fall was when I was 9 or 10 years old..I had no idea what I was doing with horses! I just thought, "Oh hey if I kick him hard enough he will gallop like in the movies!". So I kicked my horse (poor guy!) pretty hard..and he ran through a thorn bush. I never did that again!

My stupidest fall was a day when I had forgotten to tighten the girth. My horse is stubborn..he bloated himself up while I was saddling him and I guess it made the girth very loose when he un-bloated lol. My friend was over and I wanted to show off his lope. So I proceeded to lope him, and the next thing I knew I was on the ground. The saddle slipped and went underneath him. Not very fun!

Went for a bareback ride when I was 12 ish and was cantering along a verge. Then my pony started broncing like the cows in the field and goodbye me. Pony galloped off home

A funny one was when I was galloping my pony outside and I really just wasn't paying attention, (I had control but was just enjoying his running) and he decided he wanted to graze a bit. So, he just stopped dead and put his head down. I flew off into the grass and couldn't help but laugh. He always was a bratty lil pony and he knew full well what he was doing. He always has kind of a "smart a#%" personality and he actually looked at me and snorted while I was in the grass. Evil pony.
