falling off arabian horse yesterday

I have only been on a horse about 5 times now, and yesterday I got onto my sisters horse, and I had her going into a trot, and then we stopped. There was a sound that I guessed freaked her out(spooked), and she took off into a mad gallop. And I have never been in a gallop before. I held onto the horn as tight as I could, but ended up flying off of her and landed flat on the back of my head and my back. My surgeon told me that I could never ride a horse because I had scoliosis and have the steel rods in my back. But I went to ER and everything is fine, just internal bruising. I am afraid to get back on her for my training, and I don't know what to do, or how to handle a situation like that if it were to happen to me again. Any suggestions??[/b][/i]

Awww. :( I'm glad you're okay.
Maybe try getting on a horse that is not as spooky? Like, a calmer horse? Or get back on her & keep trying. ;)

Ride more, worry less.
