First mini trail ride :D

Today was so nice, hot, and beautiful my friend and I opened the arena door and walked outside for a while.

Sonny did AMAZING!!! At first he was kinda nervous...but after he got used to it he was fine. AND the vet was wrong...gravel did NOT bother his hooves at all!!!!!

I can't wait till we can actually do a real trail!!!!!

omg he is sooo much.
I let a friend ride him while I was doing something elsewhere...the minute Sonny saw me behind the gate he went over to say hi (first the girl let him do it) then she pulled him around to work with him and he wouldn't listen. All he'd do is try to get back to me. It's sooooo cute actually. I have to be close to him while someone is riding him or so far away he doesn't know I am there

Thats all we do is trail ride, I love it. You can see so much from the back of a horse that you would miss otherwise. I have a little field guide to wild flowers I carry so I can identify the ones I see. On our ride Sunday we saw 6 deer and a few wild turkeys. Great way to enjoy a beautiful day

I love trail riding, but I also love arena riding. Sadly the trails there is mostly wooded...and if we see a deer it's jumping infront of the horses. But I love to listen to the birds chattering in the trees

Congrats Sonny! Sounds like you had lots of fun. It's always nice to get out of the arena once inwhile for yours and Sonny's sake.

That is great that his feet didn't bother him.
