First ride on lexi!!!! .. didnt go so well!! :(

For those who don't know Lexi is my 5 yr old morgan! Well I lunged her for about 20 mins before riding with my trainer well I was getting up on her and I just started putting my leg over the saddle and she spooked and crow hopped/mini bucked and bolted off well I lost my balance and fell off..lexi ran over me and her back hooves hit my head.. (blacked out for a sec.) you could tell she really didn't mean for me to fall off cause my trainer told me when I fell off she looked at me like HOLY CRAP HOW DID YOU GET THERE! IM SRY! and I guess she tried to jump over me but she couldn't quite make the jump by the time she noticed also there was a ice patch. I got up trying to figure out wth just happened and I looked at lexi and she was standing looking right at me with consurned eyes I went over to her and pet her a little and walked away to grab the lunge line and she was right there beside me I forgave her pretty quick lol but we just decided that she wasn't quite up for a ride that day so we lunged her till she was pooped to get all that baby energy out for the night. The next day we just put the saddle on her and put weight on each side fooled around with the stirrups and moved the saddle around and stuff. We think that were she was before something bad happened to her that had to do with a dog cause as I was getting up... brooke (dog) was running by and that's when she took right off so were going to keep working her getting her use to diff thing (plastic bags, ropes, loud noises, DOGS!) I don't think that she was really trained before we got her (they said she was professionaly trained and good on roads ect. Haha funny I would dare to go out on the road with her right now) cause when I brought the saddle over to her she was like what the heck is that with wide eyes and kept backing away. So she's got some training to do and I'll keep posting back with updates! I just can't wait to try and get back up on her sounds weird I know. Thxs for reading ill being spending a week at the barn so you won't hear much from me till I get back home (monday - thursday) Thxs again for reading! Ill try and respond to all your replys :)

Good for you for wanting to get back on! That seems very scary!

I don't remember exactly when it was. Either in december or january, but I was getting on my horse in the indoor, and she freaked out. I only had 1 foot in the stirrup and was just trying to stay on. I did manage to get her to stand for a second and I was on.

Let us know how it all goes next time you ride her.

That sounds a little scary, but you haven't ridden a horse until you've fallen off That's what they told me when I fell off my friend's gelding. Once I was riding a 2 y/o morgan stud who had like a week of training on him and he despised cantering and liked to kick up his heels everytime I tried to transition up. The first time it scared the bejesus out of me eventually I got used to it and then after that it eventually went away.

Keep at it, pretty soon you guys will be a great team!

Lol this wouldn't be the first time i've fallen off a horse but this is probably the hardest i've fallen lol but ya that's true! O gosh I don't think I would get on a 2 yr old morgan with just a week or 2 o training lol well then again I probably would! Lol ya ill keep getting back on her no matter how many time she throws me lmao im willing to keep trying I love her and im not giving up and im sure me and her will connect sooner or later if we havent a little already

I am going through the same thing with a horse being "professionaly trained." we just got a new pony in and I was the one in charge of riding it until we figured out what we were going to do with it, but when the people got there they dropped the pony off and left immediatly. We realized why!!! We think this pony has never been ridden in its life. It was fine with the saddle but once I got on it was like a rodeo and it has been every single day for 5 days straight. The vet says that there is nothing wrong and that he thinks the pony is NOT broke!! Ha ha ha so until this pony can be used for showing/leasing/lessons I have to train it as well as my 2 horses and my new project pony!!!

Hope you are ok!!And I hope your training goes better than mine :)

Ya im fine! :) good luck to you and your training aswell! People shouldnt lie saying there professionly trained if there not cause they could get someone killed.
