First ride since November, and suggestions?

o I haven't ridden my horse since late November because in the winter I have no where to ride him.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my first ride this Spring. I hope to get on him sometime this week.

Thanks.

If you are worried about it lunge him a couple of times before you go. Then find a trail with a steep up hill very first. A tired horse is a good horse :) Don't make it too steep for him if he's out of shape though... don't want to over work or hurt him.

lunge first if you think he will be crazy and ride some where enclosed even if its a pasture. Also make sure someone else is around in case you fall or have trouble! Hope you have a good ride!!
