Talking First Riding Lesson Since My Operation :D

6 weeks ago I had a jaw operation which basically broke and extended my jaw, which stopped growing prematurely.

2 weeks ago, I got back on my horse for the first time and have been taking him on short hacks every now and again. Last night I went for my first riding lesson! We stuck to a flat lesson as my jaw can't take any 'high impact activity' I.e. Jumping. So we worked on out canter leads and leg yield in walk and trot. He was really excited to be back in the school but by the end he was so tired, bless him!

Anyway we got through it and there was no pain in my mouth, which is a bonus!

I'm glad you feel so much better! Operations are pain in bum to deal with (especially the recovery part).

    Glad you're feeling better!

On another note...was the surgery bad? My friend is having kind of the same thing [they're moving her lower jaw back and her upper jaw forward, I believe) in a few months and she's REALLY worried about it.

She shouldnt worry too much about it. I had my wisdom teeth out to make room for the incision for this operation. I was under general anesthetic for that too and that hurt more afterwards! She will have a lot of swelling but that goes down in a few days.
