Question Fixing Gates

My horse was lame for two months and I couldn't ride or work her. Now that she's healed she's still very hesitant to canter because it has hurt so long, also, because of all this she's really stiff. This has made her canter really wierd. She has a short bumpy canter and it used to be fast and flowing.
I know her canter will probably go back to normal on her own, but is there anything I can do to help or encourage her?
