Found Something Cool Out About a Horse I Ride :)

So I was at the barn today and we were talking about the horses, and one of the instructors told me something about Jake, a Canadian Hanoverian that I ride and show. He's an awesome horse- a great jumper-, and she said that someone paid $250,000 for him! It'll give me a lot of confidence when I'm going into the ring riding a 1/4 of a million dollar horse :). Sorry just had to share that!

I don't really know... he's a school horse. Do you know if there's a website or something where you can find out? His registered name is Honored. The barn got lucky, because it is a university barn and they donated him.

That's just awesome. Bet that made you feel like a million bucks. He must have some pretty impressive breeding or be a champion at jumping for that price.

There are no major hanno lines starting with "H" and I am well aware of the stallions (esp hannovarian). Very few if any would command that price tag (even Rio Grande's or Popeye's babies are nowhere near that price)

If this horse came from top lnes he would have been registered and without that registration and real name he is just a grade school horse, unfortunately.

So if he is registered...with what registry?

I'm with Spyder, and just to add - a horse is only as worth as what someone is willing to spend.

And that is what is important Anrz :) Nothing else :) It is that you enjoy your time together and get along well. The horse could be $1.00 - or $1,000,000.00 - it doesn't matter....just so long as the two of you are made for one another.
