Fox hunting

Hi guys,
I've been bitten by the hunting bug! Went out preseason yesterday and prin loved it too!

My main question is regarding shoes. She's normally booted when we ride, obviously no boots allowed hunting. So will she need shoeing all round or just fronts?

Its really up to you, I've always hunted horses with just fronts.

Welcome to hunting!!

Whether you shoe, or not, depends totally on the terrain you ride. Here in NC we have deep mud (no boots, for sure), SLICK clay, rocks and gravel. I would hesitate to have a horse with no shoes, personally. And, I like having ay least borium welded on them (or caulks) to help with traction.

Will definitely have fronts on her arthritis protection! Terrain a little gravelly mostly grass.

Will probably only do pre season this season need to juggle work and teaching.
