The university near my place has some bushes that they have trimmed so they look like hemispheres. My horse hates them ... I joke that he must think they're prehistoric turtles out to get him

I never really understood why, but Stoeka had a weird fear of strangers (especially black ) that walked by in the distance in the fields or by the roads. Everytime she saw them, she would stop dead in her tracks and spend a few seconds breathing in short, sharp bursts with her head high up staring at them.

Eventually I would be able to get her to walk on again but she would carry on trying to look at them, as if she was too scared to turn her back on them. You also can't lead her within 20 metres of whatever person/people are spooking her.

Another fear she had, although not strange and probably quite common, is of cattle or donkeys.

Well, my old MFT was the kind of horse who you could rip a chainsaw to life in front of him and it wouldn't phase him. However, when he saw a black person.....that was the end of it. He broke our friend's face in 12 places because he was black! It was so weird!

My Paso Fino spooked at my sister yesterday. She was sitting outside in a chair and we came by bareback, Artie spooked at her, jumped sideways, and I fell off. Lol.

My one Thoroughbred is terrified of cows. Took her old owner countless hours and days of lungeing her near them for her to not spook and run at the sight of them in the next pasture over.

I was riding my old horse on a trail that we had rode through many times. I was in the front and I turned around to talk to my friend. There was a "new" patch of weeds in the middle of the trail, she decided to jump over them as I was facing the wrong direction. Funnest/Scariest thing ever. I couldn't believe it. This mare was 17, never spook at anything, my first horse, could throw anyone up on her and she'd be perfect, and she freaked at a patch of weeds. =P

To see the wind's power, the rain's cleansing, and the sun's radiant life, one need only to look at the horse.

A chalk drawing on the road. That one was funny.

And cows - never understood that since they have cows right next to their pasture, but if we are riding down the road and we come across a field of cows, Toby acts like he has never seen one before in his life.

All I pay my psychiatrist is cost of feed and hay, and he'll listen to me any day!

Sunlight. Sampson hates patches of sunlight in the arena and anywhere else there is mostly shade and then a patch of sunlight. Caleigh's fine with anything.
