Funny quote about TBs

I'm reading this month's issue of Practical Horseman. There's an article by Kim Miller about redirecting a hot horse's excess energy. At one point she says about when horses are feeling up, “Thoroughbreds are quite straightforward, often providing such obvious signs as darting eyes, a prancing step, and a willingness under saddle to go forward at or sometimes before you cue”. I don't know if I'm just overtired, but I found that last part so funny. I guess it's the choice of the word willingness. It's a good article and I'm sure will come in handy once it's 20 degrees out again.

I just read that article last night! Haha. My thoroughbred falls into more of the warmblood behavior... even though he's full TB... he pretends he has no energy and then BOOM! He's going a little nuts haha.

Lol same here!! Whenever I go large along the arena instead of circles my horse acts like its the racetrack suddenly and goes into this phenomally fast trot! Zip zip zip zip zip!!

That's hilarious hee. "goes forward before you can cue! ;)" Polite way of saying takes off

Ha ha, I like that too. They know you want them going 'forward' so they just get right to it.

I heard another funny quote the other day about my TB mare from my horse chiropractor - 'Well she is a TB and a mare, so you know she is going to have problems between her ears right?'
