Anybody in S. Central MN who knows about gaited horses? I sure would like to find a trainer or a riding buddy. I have a TWH who gaited wonderfully when I got him. Now all he does is pace. He takes a few really great bi-lateral strides and goes right into a pace. I know it's something I am doing wrong. He is the first gaited horse I have had. I love riding him, but wanted the gait for my bad back which isn't getting better with all this pacing! When he tucks and lifts his tail, he is so beautiful. It's almost like he gets distracted and then loses the concentration needed to gait. Silly thing. He is flat shod in the front, regular shoes, only because of an abcess that was growing out when I got him.
