Galloped!

Hey,

Well I galloped on Chinga for the very first time. It was great. I love having a ex-race horse. When I sat back in the saddle I didn't even have to pull back on the rains he went automaticly into a canter.

It was also the very first time I've ever galloped~

That great! I'd like to say I think it's fun too, but I still can't get myself comfortable at the higher speeds. It just feels so weird when they get lower to the ground and the nice 3 beat gait turns into a mess of legs. A slow hand gallop is about all I want to do so far. I also have a ex-racehorse. He actually seemed to know it was Derby day on Saturday. We were out trail riding and started cantering, but he decided he wanted to go faster while I was cool with cantering. We came to a common ground and hand galloped. Next time maybe I'll just bridge my reins and let him go!

Fun isn't it I don't do it often but once in awhile, the feeling of speed, the wind in your hair....Nothing like it

Congrats. When I went on ahorse trek the first time ever a horse bolted with me into a galop. I vagely remember being terrified

Yea I did have a broken rib last week but it didn't bother me. But it was amazing galloping on Chinga:)

I love going fast. Its a rush lol, that's why I like barrel racing. =)

Nice to have discovered one of the best gaits in a horse? (the best in non-gaited horses ;) )
I lve having a race-breed too, he's not an ottb but a standardbred; both his rack and his galop are really fast tho, without being out of controle. It's just lovely!

O.O Careful with a broken rib - you can do some serious internal damage like that.

When I broke mine I could walk comfortably (or breathe for that matter) for almost a month, and I definitely couldn't ride for a while.
