I actually had a very different experience at my most recent experience and worst fall. I realized, what does it matter if I fall. I get back on and I try my best and do better! This particular horse often looses its rider...
However, I have not always been that way. My secondish fall BROKE ME. I was over horsed(that's a thing right?) and I was like 11 or so. I was cantering and I couldn't get her to stop(thoroughbred, not stereotyping for the record, just saying she fast.) I fell into a fence and I was unable to be confident(like REALLY) till most recent fall. I just would fell like I wasn't in control and freak out. However my my instructor would say "Laney go canter" in an exhausted voice after I would like trot and never canter.
Let me say it won't be easy though you need to get confident. Ride with friends or in groups and it should get better. Or do REALLY small barn shows
