Have you considered competetive trail? There's all kinds of rides where you encounter obstacles along the way and are judged based on how your horse handles them. I know you said that you prefer performance events, but getting out of the arena might be a really nice change of pace for Champ and yourself.

Or what about doing a little conditioning and trying a LD Endurance ride?

...I'm so not a show person, lol. But it'd be crazy and fun and different!

Hmm that sounds different and I know there is a local club hmmm but isn't it like ridden in a english saddle?

Nope! You can do either of them in any saddle you like.

Most people use an english saddle or an endurance saddle for endurance rides, but you could totally use a western one. Just so long as it's comfortable, fits him well, and won't rub or give him sores over the miles. The less it weighs the better. I'm talking about one that would be 25 miles, though. 50 miles rides I have no experience with (yet).

What is a LD endurance ride?
I will probley get a english saddle as mine isnt very comfortable the first level in this club is Level1- 12-25 miles
