my horse is so funny when he spooks, its as if he gets embarrassed that he spooked in the first place and trots off with his tail in the air!
Yesterday we walked past a cottage and a little tiny dog barked at him he jumped and went to bolt, but then he turned, saw the little dog and trotted off :P

Sounds nasty though, I have ended up in a tree, the thing is I was still on the horse lol! Had a few scratches!

This fall when I was riding bareback, My mare spooked when she tripped, and my body, of course, shifted (she's really sensitive to body position!), and she took a couple of jumps forward...I was fine, went to shift back to a good position, and she turned out from under me...brat...

One year I was helping training a horse my mom had, and when his new family came to pick him up, I think he got worked up and upset with all the new sights, and sounds...he bucked my mum off, and then I went to work with him; worked him for a while on the ground, he calmed down, so worked him on walking up to the mounting block, got up and down a few times, and when he was relaxed got on. He was fine for a bit, but then spooked at one of the kids who came running down the lane, and started an all out bronc fest...I bailed and landed on the round pen panel...looked like a monkey! Lol! We did eventually get him worked out again, and he's been solid as a rock since...we're not totally sure what set him off, because he'd been ridden for over 6 months, without ANY issues, and then that day just 'blew up'...fickle critters horses are!
