Have any long term goals to acheive?

I am back in the saddle, at least for a little while. I'm also keeping up with the forum after a long absence. I help out and often take lessons at a ranch, also learning a completely different riding discipline (western) because it is more familiar to my instructor/owner of the ranch.

I'm a beginner either way and take quite a bit of time to learn anything; but my generic short term goals concerning horseback riding include getting into gait transitions (trot, canter; walk to canter, etc.) long term- I'd love to try reigning and dressage, also to experience jumping. No competitions. No shows. (At least not yet.)

Anyone else have similar short/long term goals? How are you working on them?~

Good for you for getting back in the saddle and for being flexible enough to learn a new discipline.

My short-term goals are just to keep learning and improving. I would like to to eventually get a Bronze USDF metal. That would be a very LONG term goal.

I'd really like to get my form back after having almost two years off! I think I look like a dork riding now.

Short term goal: Canter on my horse soon!

Long term goal: Ride outside of the dressage ring---TRAILS!

Short term goal: Get back into a regular riding routine.

Long term goal: Be the best rider I can be. I'm in no rush. I'll get wherever I'm headed eventually. I'm just enjoying each challenge as it comes. :)
