Sounds awesome, MBP! I've galloped only once on a safe lesson horse, but I am yet to experience it with Snickers. I'm somehow stressed that he might not want to slow down, if it is needed and I say so, so I have to work on my confidence still. But I had a fantastic really-fast-canter-race during a trail ride (we didn't let our horses gallop, because the ground was a bit slippery with snow), it let his steam off and made me trust him more, because he felt so smooth and controllable. :)

I have come a long way, to surrender my shadow to the shadow of my horse.
