Horse rider with injured ankle

If a horse rider is unable to put weight on their left ankle, how would they get on their horse?

Getting on the right hand side or doing as some disabled people do and sit sideways on the horse and then swing a leg over the horses neck.

I would suggest using a mounting block, placed on the right side of the horse. There is no reason whatsoever that you *must* mount from the left, I actually make a point to mount/unmount from both sides when working with a horse.
