Horse sharing

So I am currently studying at university in Brighton (a 2 hour drive from london) and am about to start my third (and final year). Me and my dad own a horse in London (my real home) but obviously as my dad pays for the horse she stays put in London and doesn't follow me to uni (he rides aswell). The last two years at uni i've really missed horse riding and when I do come back home in the holidays it takes me a bit of time to get back into the swing of things!
Whilst I have looked into lessons there is only really one place that is not very conveniently located and charges a high price for lessons. I've been looking into the idea of 'sharing a horse' the idea being I pay around 20-30 a week to ride someone elses horses, me getting the benefit of riding, and them the benefit of them getting exercised (what I have researched online).
I've been riding for a long time and whilst I would not define myself as anything near an expert rider I am capable. I would not be looking for a 'problem horse' that someone wants trained, but something to enjoy riding.
I wondered if anyone had any experience on sharing horses or any advice? Whilst I am not saying it is a definite plan I thought it was worth looking into!
Any comments would be great thanks!
