How to tell a trainer it is over...how?

Like my trainer, but found better instruction and facility elsewhere. I hate breaking ties, but know it is best to do now than later. So how do you handle it and what do you say? Thanks.

Leaving on good terms is always most desirable. I would say that you have enjoyed your time there and got alot out of it and it's time for you to move on. You don't need to say you are going with another trainer unless they would find out and be upset. If so I would tell them you are going to try this trainer out for a while and see how it goes.
