Right on! Best times are about to happen for you. My husband has taken up riding again, we go to lessons together & trail ride. Instructor is trying to get to him show, maybe next year (he rides english). It's blast, let us know how you two make out.

He's ridden before. He also rides my lease gelding. But with the two new horses we've gotten, this is the first time on him. Was very exciting. He was very responsive

My husband & I grew up together in the same neighborhood, we lived on our horses as kids, he delivered newspapers, bareback, on his Icelandic pony. Then he turned 16 & was into cars & motorcycles. He would occassionally trailride with the kids & I through the years, and took a few English riding lessons when we had another instructor, for exercise he said. Then he was watching a tv show called the Doctors. They listed horseback riding as an activity that prevents osteoporisis, arthritis, etc., in other words, preserves vitality in an aging population. He's hooked. I started with a new instructor/coach as I show quite a bit, he came along & she is so fanastic in her instruction, he is super hooked.
