I got to ride today!

I am super excited because i got to ride today for the first time about two weeks. Due to much homework and a busy scheduel i've gotten to ride my mare daisey. I am just starting to ride after my fall from my big gelding and i must say i was quite afraid to ride after that and made any excuse to not. But once i've found some confidence and have the determination to learn to ride by next summer ( i am shooting for at least hunt seat if i can) i enjoy it a lot! I've already progessed to riding without the lead (for a while that's all i could do because i was still too afraid and it made me feel safer that way) I can't wait to progess and hopefully after i get my balance a little better (and the ground much more soild, no trotting today due to soggy/slippy ground : [ ) to start working on my posting! I'm really happy that i'm finally getting there : D I hope to reach my goal but if i can just be confident to ride in a class at our summer shows then i'll be happy with that

Oh i'm really sorry that you had a fall.. i know what you mean about not having the confidence to ride again afterwards.
Believe me your not alone, we have all been there at some point.
Weldone on your progress so far but remember not to push yourself, else your going to go backwards insted of forwards.
Take your time and only do what you feel happy with :):)

Every ride is a step away from fear. Just take it slow and stay in a safe environment. It took me months before I could ride though anywhere that the footing wasn't solid after my fall. The fall had nothing to do with the footing but hey its fear, its irrational!

I'm so glad you got a ride in. I haven't been out for about 2 weeks. Having the flu and bad weather are my excuse

Oh certainly, i don't want to rush anything but i certainly want a goal to work towards. Awh that sucks you've been sick, thats never fun : [ The ground here is really wet and muddy so i didn't get to do a whole lot but at least its something. But i hope you get to ride soon : ]
