Unhappy I hate one of my riding instuctors and don't know what to do :(

Yeah this is a rant and I don't mean to sound babyish lol

I just recently started at a new riding school and have been riding there for about 2 months (been riding for 4 years) and I have 3 main instructors. One of them is my favourite and the best teacher I have ever had even though she's only 17, and she's taught me in the majority of the lessons I have had.
Another is nice but she is too smiley, but she teaches ok in my opinion.
But the one I had today (3rd time i've had her) I have this feeling she hates me, even though I do try my best.

The first lesson I had at that school I had the mean teacher and she was actually ok then she pretty much ignored me as it was a group lesson and there were 4 of us and also one of the girls seemed to be having a breakdown (don't know why). But I did notice that throught that lesson she was picking on another girl who I am pretty sure was trying her best.

The next lesson I had with her was a half group half private lesson. I ride a pony who is known for being noturiously lazy and for the first half of the lesson I tried my best but when I tried to get him to canter he was sometimes a bit lazy. Then in the second half when everyone else had left my pony kept trying to bolt towards the gate and even though in the end I did control him, she preceeded to whipping my pony until he 'listened' and was trying to run away (in my opinion this is wrong) and then for the rest of that lesson my pony did listen to my commands better, but whenever she came anywhere near us the pony would bolt to get away from her.

The third lesson which I had today is the worst. It was about 28-30 degrees out so clearly nobody wants to do much in that heat. It was just me an another girl for a 1 hour lesson. I was riding the same pony and I know he doesn't really like the heat much and also the other girls horse was slightly bigger. My pony after abit of encouraging from me behaved perfectly and would go into a trot from just a small squeeze while the other girls horse took alot of kicks and whips to move from a trot and yet the instructor gave more praise to her and told me to keep my pony moving. And then she was teaching us something and throught the 25 mins of teaching us she didn't say a single word to me or explain to me what the hell I was meant to be doing to get it right but explained it to the other girl and even stopped her horse to show her what she was meant to do.
Then after about 25 mins she told us to just walk around to give us a rest and the horses a rest (and this is the most unfair part) she offered the other girl some water and the girl drank the water but then my instructor didn't even offer me any water even though the air was very dry. She then went on to asking the other girls about what she was doing for the summer and stuff and didn't even ask me and plain ignored me. Then we did some more work and moved onto jumping and then she gave me abit of attention but she gave the other girl more praise. At the end of that lesson she offered the other girl somemore water but this time she refused it, but she STILL didn't offer me any water and right at the end she gave the other girl plenty of praise and no criticism whatsoever but she gave me less praise and a bit of criticism (even though I knew what she was saying was right).

I know that the other girl and the instructor have known each other for a long time and the instructor knows her family, but I still don't think it's fair that she got more attention than me. (Just to clarify I am slightly jealous of the attention she's getting, I am not jealous about her riding though)

I wish I could ask for a different instructor but I don't want to sound rude and plus they probably wouldn't change it.

What should I do because she is really making me consider moving riding schools even though I don't want to and this is the best school I've been too

I know how you feel I've been there. I had a riding instructor who would ignore me and always work with this rich girl who was terrible rider and terrible combination with her horse. In turn my mom switched me to private lessons hoping it would help. All the instructor did was schedule my lesson immediately before the other girls, have me ride her horse, and continually ignore me. So it turned out we were paying him to warm up another students horse prior to lessons... we quit and never looked back.

You're paying her to teach you. If she isn't helping you then simply quit taking lessons from her. Be polite, but honest.

Oh I think we have all been there..... I had (I am old now) this old bag Grace who was my teacher she was really nasty always had me in tears, this other kid who had money but coulden't ride for crap always was her baby.... it never occured to me in a million years that Grace did not know how to ride herself.... REALLY!!!! One night I showed up late and saw her daughter giving her a lesson yep she never had a clue....I laughted so hard I know she could hear me... I never went back... Remember one thing :) you are the customer you are paying good money for lessons... so if you request to change instructor and they do not. Then its not worth being there... hope this helps...

I would request the other instructors for all future lessons. It's not rude, you clearly don't feel you're getting your money's worth with the one, and you're not happy with the one.

It never hurts to try first :)

Just explain that you don't feel like you're getting any benefit from her instruction and that you would rather not have a class with her again. If they can't make that happen or are unwilling to, then say you're sorry that they can't work with you and you enjoyed being there, but will have to find other arrangements then.

You must tell her higher-ups all of what you've told us, including the fact that your horse consistently bolted away from her, not just for your own case, but for other students who could get the same treatment!
