After finally having just a horrible lesson cause of my darned tall boots, I ordered some and it just came in, so I'm going to test it on Wednesday at my jumping lesson.
I feel -kinda- like I'm cheating, but I know in reality its NOT me that's the issue when I wear them. My boots are lower quality boots, so the leather has no grip whatsoever. And I know its my boots that are the issue, because when I ride in them, I'm sliding all over the place. When I ride with half chaps, or none at all, I feel and look rock solid. My trainer even noticed it and pulled me aside to ask what was wrong that day, and so I told her that no matter what, I Just could not get a grip on the leather! She rubbed dirt on the insides, which helped, but suggested I try some of the gel or spray, because she agrees that no amount of riding in them will help keep my leg more still in them, when its the leather that's the issue. Even though they're broken in and I've road in them countless times.
So here I am, anxious for my lesson. Im really curious to see if it will give the boots a little more of a grabby texture and grip. I refuse to use it when I don't wear tall boots though. If my legs slide in half chaps, then that's a problem due to me, not an equipment malfunction, such as leather on leather.
