Exclamation I need help with my racing horse

I have a pony that is 3 years old. His father is a true throughbread and his mother is 1/2 trott and 1/2 throughbread, so that makes him nearly a full thoroughbread. He is very well behaved, listens and I love him to death. He is a fast runner and has power but only when racing on his own as when he is raced by sulky with other horse, he want give the same output and just stays behind all. He has never been in an accident or any trouble with other horse. Can anyone help me out how I will make him give the same output he has alone with other horse.

    Thanks Rita. Malta

Have you tried working with another horse, and having that horse be taken up (slowed down) so that your horse can get by him? Sometimes it takes a "win" to give the horse the drive TO win...but he may also just not have the same kind of speed when he's hooked up to the sulky as he does at freedom. I can't see him work, so I can't say whether he's trying, and just not able to get there, or if he's just not trying.

Hi thanks for your replay. I have tried him hooked up with the sulky on his own and he runs like hell. When I tried him as same but with other horse he just wont give the same he gave with them as he does on his own , I even tried slowing the other down and let him pass. It is as if something keeps him back with other horses.
