I ride englsih and I want to get better at the sitting trot. Gypsy has actually a really smoth jog which is nice then I can sit her normal trot pritty well but any tips on getting it just right and go into the more forward trot?

I also need help with it in the canter. So my trainer noticed that I dont keep my legs still at the canter but im letting my seat move with the horse...So just dont know whats going on there. Help!

Here is a link to a vid of me riding. Im not that good I know but I need work and im trying!

i couldn't really see all that good, but it looks like you keep your lower leg too far forward which would throw you off balance.

I would suggest doing some no stirrup work. It will build up the muscles in your legs and get you less dependent on your stirrups for stability, which it what it looks like to me.

Your trainer should have good suggestions for you, really. But working without stirrups is absolutely amazing for lower legs and seats. If your trainer has any experience with lunging, you should have lessons on the lunge, without reins and stirrups, so that your legs, seat and hands become independant. Without reins and stirrups you pretty quickly learn to have a good seat.
Good luck.

Thanks guys, My trainer is just so busy its hard to get a lesson in with her, when I already have a group lesson and I cant work on the lunge line then...But I will have to just not use stirrups when I ride till I get better.

I have gotten better with my hands. Since my horse pulls on me I have trouble balancing because she constantly will pull...But im now not hanging off her as much. :)
