Not only did it start with an awful school day- involving all kinds of stuff from tests to disrespectful teachers, impossible deadlines and being lied to.
So, after an extended day at school, I had riding. I get to the stables, and it turns out my dad's forgotten my riding boots- and all I was wearing was my gym shoes. The stables is 1h away from my house, so going back to get them wasnt an option.
I figured I'd just ride without stirrups- train my seat right?
Well, 5 minutes into my ride, I get kicked out of the arena I had chosen, and the only one left was the international- which is about 80x100 metres. I do not like riding in this arena, because Baloo, (my 6 year old 17.1 hand warmblood) hates it. He always freaks out in there- which is not exactly ideal when I have no stirrups.
Anyways, I was taking it easy, and then- BOOM, off he goes, and down I go.
I was super lucky because I fell off about 30cm from the fence, and got away with nothing but a pulled muscle- and B only got a small cut on his foot.
Still. I am SO sick of being kicked out of arenas. My stables are commercial- state of the art if you will, with 24/7 supervision of the horses, 3 horse lorries , 2 horse walkers, 6 arenas (2 25x65, 2 20x40, 1 50x70 and the international). The price of all of this is about 800 USD a month. And we have 2 horses there. Yet- there is never anywhere for me to ride- there are over 200 horses at the yard.
What do I get when I bring this up? "He needs to get used to it anyways".
Fair enough, but am I supposed to break every bone in my body doing so? This is not the first time i've come off, and definitely not the first time he's freaked.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just really p'd off about all of this :(
