Here's our long story:
Beauty was rescued as a two year old, after being worked as a carthorse (at only a year!). She was underweight, very untrusting of people and had sores all over her back from where her harness had rubbed. She had a pelvic injury and a broken splint bone.
She was adopted by my friend Lynne, and our vet said straight off "don't plan on being able to ride this pony". So we just loved her and taught her all the things she needed to know. She's too sweet!
Anyway, she's four and a half now, and at her last check up (the vet sees her every few months because her legs were in a such a state when she was rescued) and said to us "okay, go ahead and back her."
She can't be ridden more than three times a week, and for an absolute maximum of twenty minutes, and we only walk and trot. But it's just been so rewarding to be able to start her and see how she's progressing.
So here are some pictures of us riding so I can show off how amazing our little Beauty Queen is, and how proud we are of her!
